Once
upon a time there was the farm yard: here the farmers met together to
pound on the wheat. Here were made the products of fields. Here, where
today there is, completely reorganized, an exclusive restaurant, born
for the taste lovers: "La locanda della Cupa".
A place of memory, where today can be found, among the memories and
images from other times, the tastes, the smells, the colours always
present of Salento's tradition.
We are in via Provinciale per Copertino, in San Pietro in Lama,
in this ancient dwelling created by the Politi family and today led by
professionists, whose precious advice the new restaurant makes use of.
Two little halls of familiar and intimate atmosphere, furnished with
style, invite to the tasting of the best dishes proposed by the chef and of delicious pizzas created by the "pizzaiolo".
The
menu follows the rhythm of the seasons: in fact the recipes aim on the
freshness of the ingredients. Genuinity and taste make the success of
antipastos, exquisite first and second dishes. The cooking specialties
are meat-based dishes cooked on coal, always special. The first dishes are made of "pasta fresca",
hand-made. So are the desserts. The cellar is very interesting, which
prefers the local production and proposes an accurate selection of
about 150 labels.
